Serge Kponton

Serge Kponton is a French-Togolese multi-talented visual artist,
born in 1980 in Lomé, and currently based in Paris.
Self-taught artist and passionate about visual arts, he satisfies his curiosity learning and experimenting new techniques and new media.
He always had as an ambition to capture the expression of the pride and dignity of the women that inspire him. With his work, he wants to highlight the quality of these women fit to face any challenge.
Their strength and their courage are illustrated in a graphic composition of lines and ideograms which, in the manner of the hieroglyphic writing, transcribed the outstanding events of their life.
This new figuration scripture is spread on paper, on canvas or even on his muses’ bodies to unveil their extraordinary self, their singularity, their character, their strengths and weaknesses, their influences and their inspirations.
